(Warmed Stone) , 2022

Maybe I think I love stones.

Whenever I feel like I’ve gotten out of daily life, I look for a stones. At some point, I start walking with my eyes on the ground. I pick up stones I like and put them in my pocket. Until the pocket is bulging.

Stones that are firmly embedded in the dirt and only half-breathing, stones that intertwine with each other to form streams of water, stones that are smooth and shiny, stones that are warmed and dried in the sun, stones that are incredibly smooth and round, stones that are square with white stripes on a gray background, stones that are violet and hold planets, stones that are angular with heads cut off and holes are made, stones that are elongated and pink with red dots like freckles.

Different, “not the same” stones that fit in my hand. I love the feel of the hard surfaces of the stones in my pocket, the heat of my palms as I hold them for a long time. It may sound strange, but I feel like I’m the only person in the world who will treat each one of them as special. Why do I value stones?

I loved stones (without knowing how).

I hold in my entire palm over the surface of the stone in my pocket and think about my face. I was jealous of those who accomplished something by doing nothing, hated the cracks in me, yet perverse at the bright things, like sunshine. I know the stones that filled my pockets so full that they never warm to my body temperature, the stones that disappear through torn pockets, never to be touched again. I also knew that if I let my guard down a bit, the stones would quickly cool.

Still, there are stones in my pockets that need to be held tighter.
About what makes me right, what makes me human being, what makes me can dreaming, and what makes me can protect to love.
I want to tell you about the stones in my pocket, about each world they live, and about my body heat that slowly warms them.
